Threaded back stitch
Threaded Backstitch is a decorative stitch from the Back Stitch family.
Threaded Back Stitch is a hand embroidery technique that combines the foundation stitch (Backstitch) and threading. After you embroider the Backstitch, lace the second thread through the backstitch without entering the fabric or crossing the backstitch.
Other names of the stitch
A Threaded Back Stitch is also called a Laced Backstitch.
Applications of the threaded back stitch
You can embroider the Threaded Backstitch in a single color and create a wavy line or choose two contrasting colors to create exciting patterns. Keep in mind that the Backstitch will be more visible than the threading.
This simple stitch will work great for:
- Lettering
- Outlines
- Border designs
